care instructions

Here are some things to keep in mind before working with and caring for your new crystal babies.  Keep in mind that this is not an exhaustive list, and that you should do research before deciding what new crystals to add to your collection.

cleansing and charging

  • Use other crystals: Kyanite, Selenite, Clear Quartz

  • Bathe them in natural light like moonlight and sunlight

  • Submerge them in running water, like in a stream

  • Bury them in dirt or place them on moss

  • Burn incense or a sage stick in their space

sunlight-adverse crystals

Sunlight can be another great way to cleanse crystals, but the color of some minerals can fade when exposed to a lot of direct sunlight.  We would suggest limited exposure to sunlight for some crystals like:

  • Amethyst

  • Apatite

  • Aquamarine

  • Aventurine

  • Calcite

  • Fluorite

  • Rose Quartz

  • Malachite

  • Unakite

water-adverse crystals

Although water can be a great way to cleanse the energies of some crystals, there are some minerals that do not react well with it.  Some light interactions with water may be okay, but we do not advise soaking or going swimming with these crystals:

  • Anything ending in "ite" like calcite, kyanite, selenite, etc.

  • Amber

  • Chrysocolla
